November 1, 2004 - BISSELL Homecare, Inc. purchased the
Woolite® Rug and Upholstery business from Playtex Products, Inc.

BISSELL Homecare, Inc. is an international manufacturer of home cleaning products, including sweepers, vacuums, deep cleaning machines, home carpet cleaners & carpet cleaning products, and upholstery cleaning formulas sold at retail locations nationwide. The company, in its fourth generation of family leadership, is the seventh oldest privately held manufacturing company in the United States.

Woolite® Fabric and Carpet Cleaners were part of the Playtex Family of Consumer Products. The brand of home cleaning products was purchased from Reckitt & Colman Inc. (R&C) in 1995. Woolite® Carpet Cleaners shared their brand name with other R&C products associated with Laundry Care (Woolite® Gentle Cycle Fabric Wash). Prior to R&C, in the 1980s, Boyle Midway Company manufactured Woolite®.

The home cleaning product line, as it is today, consists of a line of carpet cleaning products in aerosol and trigger bottle varieties and Fabric and Upholstery Cleaning formulas. Home owners in homes across the globe rely on our carpet cleaners and home cleaning products to keep their carpets and other floor coverings looking clean and showroom new.
